Shenzhen's Qianhai will set up a passenger terminal and cross-boundary helicopter terminal with passenger ports at Mawan area, according to a notice released by the Authority of Qianhai on November 15. As a result, it will be possible from leaving Qianhai to reach other cities in the Greater Bay Area by ship and by air in the future.

The above development plan was revealed in a recently issued 5-year development plan for ports by the General Administration of Customs.

According to the Outline Development Plan for the Greater Bay Area, China will support the establishment of a boundary control point in Qianhai, and explore strengthening efficiency and connectivity of infrastructural facilities with Hong Kong.

Hence, the Authority of Qianhai has worked out relevant plans of the "Water Transportation System Planning of the Qianhai and Shekou Free Trade Zone” as well as the "Research for the Layout of Cross-boundary Helicopter Terminals between Shenzhen and Hong Kong”.

The establishment of the passenger terminal at Qianhai will further strengthen the connectivity of infrastructural facilities with Hong Kong and enhance the opening-up to Hong Kong and Macao, said an official of the Authority of Qianhai.
