On April 11, 300 teachers and students from Hong Kong and Macao in Guangzhou's Jinan University got voluntary COVID-19 vaccine inoculation. Currently, cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai have begun to offer vaccines for Hong Kong and Macao residents, Guangdong will advance the vaccination for them in the near future.

"I believe in Chinese-made vaccines and thank the university for vaccinating us to get immune protection as soon as possible," said Wang Tingting, one of the vaccinated students from Hong Kong, who is studying at the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Jinan University.

Mr. Xie, another vaccinated Hong Kong student also felt grateful about such an arrangement for Hong Kong, Macao students. He said, "After my parents knew that I was eligible for free vaccine on the Mainland, they asked me to get vaccination as soon as possible. I also actively cooperated with the school's vaccination arrangements."

Starting from April 9, Guangdong began vaccinations for the province's Hong Kong and Macao residents with a specific notice, claiming that the vaccinated people should living in Guangdong between the age of 18 and 59, as well as those over 60 who need to be vaccinated for special reasons with good physical conditions.

They can use either mainland residential permits issued by public security authorities or proof of mainland medical insurance programs to get vaccinated for free on a voluntary basis, and they will enjoy the same policy support as mainland residents.
