From January to October 2025, Guangdong's total imports and exports reached 7.8 trillion yuan, up 3.7% year on year, accounting for 20.9% of China's total foreign trade. Exports totaled 4.98 trillion yuan, up 1.7%, while imports reached 2.82 trillion yuan, up 7.5%.

Trade under the general trade category increased 3.4% to 4.54 trillion yuan, making up 58.2% of Guangdong's total foreign trade. Processing trade amounted to 1.61 trillion yuan, slightly down 0.2%, while bonded logistics trade rose 9.1% to 1.57 trillion yuan, outpacing the overall growth rate by 5.4 percentage points.

By business type, private enterprises recorded 4.98 trillion yuan in imports and exports, up 3.8%, representing 63.8% of the province's total. Foreign-invested enterprises increased 6.3% to 2.49 trillion yuan, holding a 31.9% share, up 0.8 percentage points from a year earlier.

In terms of trading partners, ASEAN remained Guangdong's largest trading partner, with trade volume totaling 1.26 trillion yuan, up 5.2%, and accounting for 16.2% of the province's total. Hong Kong SAR ranked second at 1.04 trillion yuan (up 11%), followed by the European Union at 935.4 billion yuan (up 8.5%).

Trade with emerging markets also accelerated. Guangdong's trade with the Middle East, Africa, and the five Central Asian countries rose 5.7%, 9.2%, and 24.9%, respectively. Trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) totaled 3 trillion yuan, up 4.2%, representing 38.5% of Guangdong's total trade.

Guangdong's export structure continued to improve. Exports of mechanical and electrical products rose 6.7% to 3.41 trillion yuan, increasing their share of total exports by 3.2 percentage points to 68.4%. Key export items included electronic components (527.4 billion yuan, up 19.4%), computers and parts (368.2 billion yuan, up 10.6%), and electrical equipment (361.3 billion yuan, up 18.1%). Exports of 3D printers and drones surged by 18.4% and 40.3%, respectively. Exports of solar cells, lithium batteries, and electric vehicles increased by 32.6%.

Imports of key industrial materials and consumer goods also expanded. Guangdong imported integrated circuits worth 1.05 trillion yuan, up 14.6%, accounting for 37.2% of its total imports. Computers and parts rose 21.2% to 287 billion yuan, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment jumped 48.4% to 64.8 billion yuan. Meanwhile, imports of grain, aquatic products, dairy, and edible oils all registered double-digit growth, reflecting rising demand for essential and consumer goods.
