At Guangzhou Hualong Fruit & Vegetable Preservation Co., Ltd. in Conghua District, crates of plump and crimson lychees nestled in emerald leaves moved swiftly through processing. After on-site quarantine inspections by Conghua Customs, the fresh lychees were cleared for export and prepared to board international flights to destinations around the world.

Lychees from Lingnan (Southern China) are now reaching global consumers faster than ever, overcoming geographical and seasonal barriers. Conghua lychees are exported to more than 20 countries and regions across six continents, with some shipments arriving in European markets within just 2–3 days. In the second quarter alone, Conghua, with Customs supervising the quarantine, exported of 1,160.8 metric tons of fresh lychees.

Recognized as the "Hometown of Chinese Lychee," Conghua is one of China's major lychee-producing regions. Its unique geographic and climatic conditions support a later harvest season—from late June to early August—allowing for the cultivation of premium varieties such as Jinggang Hongnuo, Liuxi Guiwei, and Feizixiao.

The high perishability of fresh lychees—lasting just 2–3 days at room temperature—places strict demands on export speed. This challenge is intensified by varied and stringent quarantine regulations across international markets and a highly concentrated harvest window from June to August.

To streamline exports, Conghua Customs has launched an "express channel" featuring 24-hour pre-scheduled inspection services for faster clearance. Customs officials also provide hands-on guidance to local enterprises, helping improve quality management systems and upgrade cold chain facilities to meet the phytosanitary standards of target export markets. This comprehensive support ensures Conghua lychees reach international consumers in good condition and in full compliance with global requirements.
