The Shenzhen-Zhuhai Link, a major infrastructure project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), is moving forward with early-stage planning. The Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission has included preliminary research for the project in its 2025 budget, marking a significant step toward construction.

Also known as the Lingdingyang Link, the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Link is planned between the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It will connect Qianhai in Shenzhen to the Zhuhai National High-tech Industrial Zone.

Spanning about 80 kilometers, it will be the GBA's first multi-modal corridor, integrating high-speed rail, intercity rail, and expressways.

The Shenzhen-Zhuhai Link is expected to reduce travel time between Qianhai and Zhuhai's High-Tech Zone to about 30 minutes, down from at least 70 minutes. Experts highlight its potential to boost economic ties, fostering a "Shenzhen R&D + Zhuhai Manufacturing" model.

By further integrating Shenzhen with the western Pearl River region, the link will reinforce the GBA's "1-Hour Economic Circle", unlocking new opportunities for regional synergy and development.
