From November 16 to 18,  the 2024 Greater Bay Area Science Forum was held synchronously in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The opening ceremony, the main forum, six sub-forums, and four special events were all presented at Nansha Science City in Guangzhou.

Nansha Science City

In the interactive technology product experience zone, a variety of products were displayed, including hologram fan screens from COEUX and fiber-optic sensing systems, infrared detectors, infrared pods, night vision devices, and optical computing chips from the Nansha Photonics Perception Research Institute of University of Science and Technology Beijing.In addition, Nansha made industrial recommendations at the sub-forums on marine science and marine industries, and low-altitude economy strategy, respectively.

Guangdong Medical Valley Industrial Park

During the forum, experts including Nobel laureates, visited Nansha along two themed research routes. The characteristic industries route took participants to the Nansha New Area Planning Exhibition Hall, Pony.ai, Guangzhou Zhongke Aerospace Exploration Technology Co., Ltd., and Greater Bay Technology's Nansha headquarters for visits and exchanges.

The biomedicine and health industry route visited the Guangdong Medical Valley Industrial Park, Greater Bay Area Institute of Precision Medicine, and pharmaceutical companies.

Nansha Urban Landscape

In recent years, Nansha Science City has rapidly concentrated various innovative elements and resources, establishing a marine science and technology innovation platform system led by the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou).

Key projects include the Large Scientific Facility for the Cold Spring Ecosystem and the "Mengxiang" Ocean Drilling Ship, with institutions such as the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey and the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, providing further support.

Currently, Nansha has gathered 1,128 high-tech enterprises. In 2023, the output value of the high-tech industry reached 24.95 billion yuan, up 6.1% year-on-year.
