The Wanqingsha Branch Line of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway, which connects Guangzhou to the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link (Shenzhong Link), will open to traffic by year-end, allowing vehicles to travel from the Nansha Port to the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport via the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in less than 20 minutes, and to Zhongshan via the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway in less than 15 minutes.

To efficiently connect Nansha's urban area with the Shenzhong Link, Nansha is striving to complete the improvement of the city's main road network. It is embarking on upgrading projects for Wanhuan West Road, Shinan Road (Phase I), and Fenghuang Avenue. This will form a central axis express corridor running from north to south through the district.

The Y-shaped expressway is composed of a mainline and the Wanqingsha branch line. The mainline, which connects Guangzhou and Zhongshan, opened to traffic in April.
