At a signing ceremony in Beijing on March 26, Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong, signed a memorandum of understanding with Amin Nasser, CEO of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), to explore more cooperation opportunities in the fields of energy, research and innovation, industrial projects, fiance and talent exchanges.

Wang Weizhong said that Saudi Aramco, as one of the world’s largest oil-gas-chemical integration companies, significantly influences the global oil industry. In contrast, Guangdong, as one of the most essential petrochemical bases in China, has introduced ten billion dollars in projects in recent years. Guandong’s green petrochemical industry has developed into a trillion-RMB industrial cluster. The deepening cooperation between Guangdong and Saudi Aramco sees complementary advantages and great potential. Guangdong will endeavour to provide a solid business environment and promote the implementation of cooperation projects for Saudi Aramco.

Amin Nasser said that Guangdong has successfully attracted large-scale investment and has become a leader in petrochemicals and advanced materials. Saudi Aramco cooperates extensively with Guangdong in petrochemical, new materials, and strategic emerging industries. Saudi Aramco is willing to strengthen cooperation in petrochemical, hydrogen, and ammonia energy, support Guangdong in developing a modern, sustainable petrochemical industry, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results between Saudi Aramco and Guangdong.
