From May 13 to 14, the delegation of representatives from 11 Russian media outlets continued their visit in Shenzhen, as the second stop of their trip in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

On May 13, they first paid visits to two important locations in Qianhai, a special economic zone in Shenzhen, including the Qianhai Exhibition Hall and Qianhai International Hub. At the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, the delegation was introduced to the development roadmap of the area, as well as the flagship industries that bind together the economic ties among Guangdong Province, Hong Kong, and Macao. Later on, at Qianhai International Hub, the delegation was briefed on the international talent services. Both online and offline services are designed to facilitate global enterprises and talents settling down in the area.

Ekaterina Shirokova from TASS News Agency noted in her interview with GDToday that talent policies and services play a huge part in assisting them to choose a place in the world to settle down. "Every time, when you are looking for jobs all over the world, governmental projects would help a lot and it would be good for the young generation," she said. She expected more people-to-people exchanges between the Greater Bay Area and Russia, "I would like to see student exchanges between China and Russia in the sphere of news."

On May 14, the delegation moved on to get a close look of the historical trace and growth story of Shenzhen. Through different pieces in chronological order, the delegation followed how Shenzhen transformed from a humble fishing village to a vibrant metropolis in 40 years.

Екатерина Сергеевна Морозова, a journalist from Interfax News Agency, told GDToday that Russia can draw experience from Shenzhen for its impressive city planning. "It's amazing how young the city is but how already developed it is. I'd wish we had a city like this at home in Russia. We could have more cooperation on this front," she said.

Дмитрий Евгеньевич Косырев, a columnist at Russian Today Agency, described his trip to Shenzhen as "meeting old friends". "The first time I was here was in 1992. It has changed so much. For most of my life, I've been working in Southeast Asia and dealing with Chinese people. It's like meeting old friends." As a columnist who has written two books about China's Belt and Road Initiative, he would like to to know more about its southern route in GBA and the economic development.

The delegation also visited the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University as their final stop of the trip in GBA. Up next, the delegation will continue their visit to Fujian Province before heading back to Moscow.
