A series of facilitation measures have been arranged to ensure the smooth running of the 15th National Games in 2025, which will be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR from November 9 to 21. These measures include pre-inspection, full-process closure, seamless clearance at checkpoints, and more.
To simplify procedures, customs authorities allow the use of ATA Carnets (temporary import or export goods documents) for relevant clearance procedures. The ATA Carnet is recognized by customs in the mainland, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR, exempting users from paying tariffs and other import-related taxes during the temporary import period, effectively reducing costs.
The clearance process has been streamlined to ensure that entry and exit doping control samples that are inspected and found compliant with quarantine requirements are quickly released, guaranteeing the timeliness of sample clearance while safeguarding public health at the ports.
For cross-regional events like the road cycling and marathon races, Shenzhen and Gongbei Customs have innovatively adopted pre-inspection, full-process closure, and seamless clearance models to facilitate smooth clearance at checkpoints during the events.
The 15th National Games, which will open in Guangzhou and close in Shenzhen, is the largest, highest-level, and most influential comprehensive sports event in China undertaken by the three regions.
During the 15th National Games, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will host the tennis events at the Hengqin International Tennis Center. The tennis test event is scheduled for August 10, with the formal competition starting on November 9. Top domestic players like Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu, Zhang Zhizhen, and Shang Juncheng will gather in Hengqin. Macao SAR will host table tennis, 3-on-3 basketball, 5-on-5 basketball (under-18 men's), women's adult volleyball, and karate competitions.
